It was wonderful to be back at the Glasgow Coffee Festival this April. There is a specific kind of energy at the Briggait when it is filled with coffee lovers, and seeing the event grow into the Clydeside Halls this year felt like a real milestone for our local community. With nearly 3,000 people through the doors, the atmosphere was buzzing, and we were so glad to be right in the middle of it.
Catching Up at the Glasgow Coffee Festival
For our team, attending the Glasgow Coffee Festival is about more than just showing our products. It is a chance to have a proper chat about how we can take things that are usually thrown away and turn them into something beautiful. Following our first visit in 2025, we returned this year with a bigger space and our full range of skincare rituals to share with you.
What Circular Skincare Really Means
We often talk about circular skincare, but here is what that really means for your skin and the planet. We believe that the ingredients used in your daily routine should be as kind to the earth as they are to your face. That is why we work closely with local roasters like Dear Green and Parallel Coffee. We take the coffee grounds that would otherwise head to a landfill and extract a rich, high performance oil.
Calming Rituals for Real Skin
At the festival, our 100% Upcycled Coffee Oil was the real star. We love explaining how it works because it is so simple. A few drops go a long way to nourish and protect your skin's natural barrier. Many of you told us how much you appreciated that it is made by our team just down the road in Motherwell. It is skincare for real life, made with grounded innovation.
We also brought along our two body scrubs. We chose to create two different styles because we know everyone's skin has different needs. Our Mocha Body Scrub is a gentler, more moisturising experience, while the Peppermint Coffee Scrub is there for when you want something a bit more invigorating. It was great to see people testing the textures and seeing that waste can actually feel incredibly indulgent.
Closing the Loop on Coffee Waste
The most rewarding part of the weekend was seeing the circular loop in action. Over the two days, we collected 90kg of coffee waste directly from the Glasgow Coffee Festival. Instead of this being sent to a landfill where it would create carbon emissions, it is now back at our laboratory. We are busy turning it into the next batch of coffee oil and using the remaining grounds as a natural exfoliant in our scrubs.
Every Routine Makes a Difference
As our Marketing Manager, Robert Burton, mentioned during the event, the enthusiasm for upcycling in Glasgow is truly motivating. It shows that small, everyday choices, like the skincare you choose, really do add up.
Together, we are finding a better way to look after ourselves and our environment. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. You have left us feeling inspired and ready to keep turning the overlooked into something worthwhile.
